From repairing dog worn paths in kikuyu, encouraging buffalo plugs to take hold, pushing couch recovery after a hard scalp or helping tall fescue and ryegrass establish during renovation, TurfRise™ helps compress grow in time so your lawn fills in faster and looks uniform sooner.
Lightweight, reusable and easy to install with simple irrigation pegs, TurfRise™ brings professional turf management practices into the backyard without complexity. Use it across the seasons to support establishment, protect vulnerable areas and keep your lawn progressing year round.
Professional Turf Technology for the Backyard
TurfRise™ uses a woven blend of black and clear monofilament designed to balance warmth, light penetration and airflow. The darker strands help absorb warmth while the clear fibres allow sunlight through, creating a stable growing environment that supports both warm season runners like couch and kikuyu and cool season germination such as tall fescue or ryegrass.
The result is a simple, reusable tool that allows lawn enthusiasts to apply professional turf management principles at home.

Plugging is a popular way to repair or extend warm season lawns without full replacement. TurfRise™ helps retain warmth at the soil surface while allowing airflow and irrigation through, encouraging plugs to establish and spread faster.

Whether starting fresh from seed or repairing larger sections, TurfRise™ helps reduce early grow in variability by maintaining a balanced environment at ground level. This can support more uniform establishment across tall fescue, couch, buffalo and mixed lawn areas.

Bird activity can disrupt freshly seeded areas before germination begins. The woven mesh creates a simple physical barrier that helps reduce seed disturbance while still allowing light and water to reach the soil.

Hard scalping, renovation work or heavy backyard use can slow recovery across warm season grasses. TurfRise™ helps support early regrowth by stabilising surface conditions while runners and roots rebuild underneath.
Grow Stronger Lawns Faster All Year Round
TurfRise™ Residential Growth Covers bring professional turf grow in practices into the backyard. Built for lawn care enthusiasts who want consistent results, the breathable woven mesh helps create stable early growth conditions across common Australian lawn types including Sir Walter buffalo, kikuyu, couch, zoysia, tall fescue and perennial ryegrass overseeding projects.
Whether repairing worn kikuyu paths, helping buffalo plugs establish, encouraging couch recovery after renovation or supporting tall fescue growth through cooler months, TurfRise™ helps compress recovery time and improve establishment consistency without complicated setup.
Pro Results at Home
Serious lawn enthusiasts approach their lawns with the same mindset as professional turf managers. TurfRise™ allows homeowners to apply proven grow in principles to everyday lawn repairs, renovations and overseeding.
High traffic areas, dog wear paths and spots affected by dog urine often struggle to recover evenly. Warm season grasses like buffalo, couch and kikuyu rely on strong early growth to spread back into damaged areas, while tall fescue and ryegrass projects benefit from stable moisture and warmth during germination. TurfRise™ helps create that balanced environment so repaired sections blend back into the lawn sooner.
Designed for Backyard Projects
The residential TurfRise™ range is intentionally simple to use.
The mesh is secured using irrigation style turf pegs and can be trimmed easily to suit curved lawn edges, garden beds or around trees. There are no hemmed edges, eyelets or drag handles, keeping the cover lightweight and easy to manage for smaller DIY projects.
Because the mesh cuts cleanly without fraying, it works just as well over a small buffalo repair patch as it does across a larger couch renovation zone or a ryegrass overseed section. When the job is finished, the cover folds or rolls into a compact bundle that stores neatly in the garden shed until the next project.
Faster Recovery Where Lawns Wear Out
Backyard lawns rarely wear evenly. Dog runs, shaded buffalo areas, high traffic couch sections and kikuyu paths often become thin first.
TurfRise™ helps protect freshly repaired zones while new growth establishes underneath. The woven mesh discourages birds from disturbing seed, reduces surface drying and creates a simple barrier that helps limit pets from re damaging areas while roots develop.
Many lawn enthusiasts use TurfRise™ after plugging buffalo sections, repairing dog urine damage or encouraging couch to re spread across worn patches. Used correctly, recovery time can be significantly reduced, helping the lawn return to a consistent finish faster.
Year Round Use
TurfRise™ is designed for year round use when managed correctly, not just during cooler conditions.
Spring renovations benefit from faster establishment as warm season grasses begin active growth. During summer, covers can assist recovery from scalping, wear or stress when vented during extreme heat. Autumn is a popular time for overseeding couch lawns with perennial ryegrass, where stable early growth conditions make a noticeable difference. In cooler regions, tall fescue lawns can also benefit from improved early development during establishment or repair.
The breathable woven design allows irrigation and rainfall to pass through while supporting airflow and balanced soil conditions across changing seasons.
How to Use TurfRise™ Residential Covers
Prepare the lawn area by mowing, seeding, plugging or repairing as required. Lay the TurfRise™ mesh directly over the surface and secure it using irrigation pegs spaced evenly around the perimeter.
Trim the mesh to suit the shape of your lawn or around garden features. Water normally through the cover as rainfall and irrigation penetrate easily.
Monitor growth regularly and lift or vent the cover during periods of extreme heat above 40°C. Once the lawn has established, remove the mesh, allow the turf to harden off, then fold or roll the cover away for reuse on future projects.
Watch the Video - TurfRise™ Growth Cover Winter Trial
In this short video, Nick Thurlbeck from Bartlett Manufacturing trials a TurfRise™ Growth Cover on a Sir Walter Buffalo lawn in Ballarat, VIC. Filmed through winter conditions, the trial highlights how TurfRise™ supports early season recovery and helps protect Sir Walter Buffalo during colder periods. The cover featured uses the same commercial grade polypropylene mesh trusted by professional turf managers and is suited to warm season grasses in cooler Australian climates.
